Q:What role does a GE UR-4DH I/O Module play in the Multilin UR Series of universal relay systems?
A:A UR-4DH is a Multilin digital I/O module. A Digital I/O module can provide the universal relay with up to 96 contact inputs. The voltage for these contact inputs can be up to 250V (utility voltage rating). In addition to these contact inputs, the digital I/O module provides the relay with up to 64 contact outputs. These outputs are used to control or monitor aux equipment in an application that is protective in nature. The digital cards included in the digital I/O module can vary. They can be Form-A, Form-C, Latching, Fast Form-C, or solid state relay (SSR). These cards vary based on if they come with current monitoring, DC voltage, or isolate inputs. The isolated inputs come with an auto burnish feature. If the digital outputs of the digital I/O module are mechanical in the way that they latch then they gain the application of being able to form stable interlocking applications to replace lockout relays and mechanical switches. If the I/O module is form-A, then the digital outputs have less than 4ms activation speeds in wet or in dry contacts. |
