A: To ensure proper thermal and electrical contact without damaging the module, Fuji Electric recommends the following torques:
Mounting Screws (M5): 3.0 ~ 6.0 N·m
Main Terminal Screws (M8): 8.0 ~ 10.0 N·m
Sense Terminal Screws (M4): 1.8 ~ 2.1 N·m
Why are there sense terminals on the module?
A: The sense terminals (Sense C1, Sense C2E1, Sense E2) are provided for accurate measurement of the collector-emitter on-state voltage and switching characteristics. By using these Kelvin-connected sense terminals, the measurement is not affected by the voltage drop across the high-current main terminals, providing a true reading of the IGBT chip's voltage.
